Appointment of 26 EDOs  Peshawar High Court stays results
PESHAWAR: A division bench of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Monday restrained the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission from announcing final results of 26 Executive District Officers (EDOs) till disposal of a writ petition.

The bench, comprising Justice Liaqat Ali Shah and Justice Imtiaz Ali, also issued notices to the commission chairman to explain his position in alleged irregularities in appointment of EDOs (BPS-19) as claimed in the writ petition.

The court was hearing a petition filed by four candidates from education department for the EDO posts in which they claimed that the criteria issued for the posts of 26 EDOs had been violated by the commission.

The petitioners’ lawyer, Roohul Ameen Chamkani, contended that the commission in its widely published advertisement for the posts of EDOs had set criteria of 12 years experience to be counted from the period of MA/MSc degree.

He argued that to accommodate the blue-eyed people, the commission changed criteria during interview and set criteria of 12 years experience to be counted from M Ed instead of MA/MSc. The bench directed the commission chairman to explain his position in the case. The news
