Lahore University of Management Sciences organised  annual musical night at  Main Library Ground

Students enjoy professional performances of Noori, EP and Aunty Disco

LAHORE: The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) organised its annual musical night at the Main Library Ground of the university on Saturday night. Hundreds of students enjoyed the musical night as the LUMS Music Society celebrated its 10th anniversary with great fervour. The open-air venue added to the glamour of the night as sitting arrangements were made on the grassy lawn by laying a carpet on it. The spacious ground looked empty at the beginning of the night, however, it was filled to full capacity later on. Stalls of edibles were set up to facilitate the students. The ground was beset with tents. Bands: Professional bands like Entity Paradigm (EP), Noori and Aunty Disco were invited to the musical night. Talent of the LUMS students was also demonstrated in between these professional performances. Various bands of students from various schools performed and received great applause. Some songs were original and composed by students themselves while most were remixes of popular pop songs. The arrangements made for the concert were commendable. Apart from an appropriate stage that seemed to be proportionate to the ground size, LCD screens were also set up to help the audience get a closer picture of the stage. Sounds of booing and applause resounded in the venue. Hammad, a student, said the event had been both colourful and fabulous. The achievements of the LUMS Music Society were applauded on the occasion. Speakers highlighted that 10 years ago, the society came into existence, and over this period, it had introduced the talents of students of LUMS on various national platforms. The society’s patron-in-chief said it was among the most active societies of the university. A day before the concert, the society organised a panel discussion on the country’s music industry and its future. Many young and talented singers participated in the discussion and gave their feedback. Daily Times
