Annual function of Vision English School Orgnised in Malir Campus

Karachi:Malir Town acting Nazim has said that extra curricular activities are as important as academic pursuits, as these boost both mental and physical talents of children.

Speaking as chief guest at the annual function of The Vision English School, Malir Campus here on Tuesday, he said that knowledge is a wealth which increases with its distribution and nations which pay attention to academic development always progress. He said that the private sector is rendering valuable services for improving the standards of education. He hoped that children studying in the school would bring fame and glory to the Town in the future.

School children presented programmes at the occasion, highlighting national culture as well as taking part in social, political and religious tableaux (tableaux).

GULSHAN TOWN: Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town Council approved a surplus draft budget for 2009-2010 with a consensus on Tuesday. The Rs 1.7 billion budget is 0.2 million rupees surplus. 68 per cent of the budget has been earmarked for development work which is broken down as 797 million rupees and 139 million for the expenditures. Maintenance will get 11.8 million rupees and 218 million rupees have been allocated for the salaries of the staff of the Town.

APP adds: A Green Town Campaign will soon be launched in Shah Faisal Town with the cooperation of the citizens living in the town, town administration announced on Tuesday.

In this regard, acting Nazim Irtiza Farooqui has specially directed the Parks Department to develop green patches on all central islands, green belts and parks.
