Fatima Jinnah Medical College Free medical camp held for IDPs

PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Psychiatric Society, Fatima Jinnah Medical College and Fountain House Peshawar organised a free medical camp for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Swat here Monday.

The camp, Hum Pakistani, provided free mental health services to 50 displaced families from Swat valley at Ibadat Hospital, Peshawar. A total of 126 males, 175 women and 205 children visited the camp.

Free mental health counselling and outpatient psychiatric and primary medical healthcare was given to 210 persons. One volunteer physician, three psychiatrists, two psychologists and fives social workers attended the IDPs at the camp.

Medicines donated by Professor Dr Haroon Rasheed Chaudhry were distributed and follow-up visits were suggested to 110 patients during the camp, which was supervised by Professor Dr Khalid A Mufti, says a press release.
