No clue yet to kidnapped district education officer Hangu

LAKKI MARWAT: Despite a lapse of 40 days, the government has failed to recover the district education officer, Fazal Umar, kidnapped by unidentified gunmen last month in the Hangu district.

Addressing a joint press conference here at Naurang Press Club on Thursday, relatives of the EDO including Muhammad Hassan, Muhammad Anwar, Sanaullah, Khalid Usman, Muhammad Jahangir and Khalilur Rehman, said unidentified gunmen kidnapped Fazal Umar on May 12 while he was on way from Kohat to Hangu.

They said the district and provincial governments were informed but nothing had been done for his recovery so far. He was kidnapped for ransom but we have got no message from the captors thus far, nor anyone has yet claimed responsibility for the incident, they said, adding, the provincial government should ensure his safe recovery. The relatives said they would be forced to block the Indus Highway in protest if the government failed to secure his safe and early recovery within three days.F.P.
