PUnjab College Lahore system to record students’ performance

LAHORE:In order to enable teachers to prepare the performance record of their students on the basis of their assignments and results etc, the University of Punjab has introduced LogiCampus.

PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran inaugurated the Campus Management System at the PU College of Information Technology (PUCIT) at the Old Campus on Monday. With the click of computer mouse, the vice chancellor launched the system through which the students would also have access to their performance under their separate logins.

The VC appreciated the PUCIT Principal Dr Mansoor Sarwar and his faculty, saying the system was prepared at a very reasonable cost of 0.5 million sponsored by the National Information and Communication Technologies(ICT) Fund, Ministry of Information Technology.

Dr Mansoor Sarwar said that PUCIT became the constituent college of the PU about 9 years ago, adding when he joined the college in April 2006, the whole system was run manually. “We started work on automating course management, admission system, and the examination system in March 2008, with a team of teachers and students led by Lecturer Hassan Khan”, he said, adding, “We are looking for an inexpensive but reliable solution.” He said, after reviewing various options, including MOODLE and Skai, the team opted for LogiCampus.
