Class-V, VIII centralised exam results announced: FDE to induct new teachers soon
Islamabad, July 25, 2008: The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) here on Thursday announced results of Centralised Annual Examinations of grades 8 and 5, which produced 91.4 and 90.8 pass percentages.

Announcing examination results at a press conference, FDE Director General Atique-ur-Rehman said that 650 top students would be awarded merit scholarships and certificates. The best teachers and best institutions, winning maximum number of scholarships, would also be rewarded, he added.

The FDE official said the centralised examinations were started to enhance the spirit of competition and consolidate the foundation of better academic development. Private students were also allowed to appear in centralised examinations and win scholarships and certificates.

FDE Director Rafique Tahir said both centralised examinations are conducted on the pattern of board examinations in order prepare students for future competitions and this system also judges their capabilities.

CLASS VIII

Students belonging to Ali Trust School and College secured top three positions in the centralised examination for grade 8. Shahid Saleeem Raza (roll number 16637) bagged first position by securing 558 marks out 600. Hafiz Zabeeullah (roll number 16656) with 557 and Ehsan Javed (roll number 16641) with 551 marks stood second and third respectively.

In all, 16,778 students from federal government schools, model academic institutions and private students appeared in the examination. Out of them, 15,335 were declared successful. The pass percentage among students from federal government institutions remained 92.51%, among model institutions 98.74% while 68.18% private candidates passed the examination.

On the basis of number of scholarships, the Federal Government Girls Model School, G-6/1-3, was declared best institution, as its students won 19 scholarships. The students of Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG), F-6/2 bagged 16 scholarships, while 13 scholarships went to IMCG, G-10/2.

In all, 51 private students got scholarship. Out of them, 50 scholarships went to Ali Trust School and College.

Class V

In class 5 centralised examination, 12,214 out of 19,696 candidates passed the examination. The pass percentage of students of federal government institutions was 91.45%, model institutions 96.85% and private students 83.93%.

Among federal government schools and private candidates, Ayesha Malik (roll number 29747) of Federal Government Girls Model School, Model Town Humak, obtained first position by securing 565 marks out of 600. Hajra Naveed (roll number 25477) of Federal Government Junior Model School, I-8/1, got 561 marks and secured second position. Namra Batool (roll number 29735) of Federal Government Junior Model School, Humak, obtained 556 marks and secured third position.

Federal Government Junior Model School, G-10/3, with 31 scholarships was adjudged best institution. It was followed by Federal Government Junior Model School, I-9/4, with 21 and Federal Government Junior Model School, Humak, with 18 scholarships.

Among students of model academic institutions, Muhammad Salman (roll no. 663) of IMCB, G-10/4, secured first position with 586 marks out 600. Naveera Yasir (roll no. 2075) of IMCG, F-10/2, with 580 and Inzamam Khalil (roll no. 703) with 577 marks stood second and third respectively.

Students of Islamabad Model College for Boys (IMCB), F-8/4, won 24 scholarships and it was declared best institution. Students of IMCB, G-10/4, grabbed 23 scholarships, while the IMCG, F-10/2, got 21 scholarships. In all, 50 private students won scholarships.
