UHS Lahore sets up centre of innovation in learning

Lahore: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) in collaboration with the University of Liverpool, UK, has established the Centre of Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT) and it is all set to launch joint certificate and master's degree programme leading to PhD in medical education, which will result in dual award, for the professional development of medical faculty of the Punjab.

According to a press release here on Tuesday, Liverpool University Director Centre of Life Long Learning, Ian Willis, and International Academic Course Developer Hazel Howden-Leach are on a six-day fact-finding visit to Punjab. They are holding a seminar on "Best Practices in Medical Education" at the UHS.

More than 100 faculty members of affiliated medical colleges are attending the seminar.

The objective is to identify issues in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education in Pakistan and to find solution to these problems.

The two British medical educationists will visit different medical colleges of the province and also meet authorities of Higher Education Commission, Islamabad, on Friday.
