Peoples Students Federation Punjab Convention

LAHORE:THE Peoples Students Federation (PSF) organised the Punjab Convention on Saturday in connection with the birth anniversary of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed in which speakers paid glowing tribute to former Prime Minister and Chairperson PPP.

Advisor to Federal Ministry of Youth Affairs Mian Muhammad Ayub, paying tribute to Benazir Bhutto Shaheed, said the birth anniversaries of only public leaders were observed by the nations and no such functions were held in memory of dictators like Zia-ul-Haq and Gen Pervez Musharraf.

He further said dictators caused great damage to the country by derailing the country from democratic process time and again.

He said the PPP had taken a number of pro-poor and pro-youth initiatives, adding the government would introduce more initiatives for the welfare of people, especially youth. PPP MPA Sajida Mir, terming the Punjab rulers as dictators, claimed that next time her party would be in power in Punjab. She said the PPP was a party of workers, adding the vacuum created after the death of Benazir Bhutto could not be filled but efforts could be made to materialise her vision.

She further said that some elements within the party wanted to oust real inheritors and workers from the party. She maintained that the mission of BB could not be completed unless the party was cleansed of such elements. The news
