Orientation programme concludes at Punjab University's Institute of Science
LAHORE:A FOUR-DAY annual orientation programme, organised by the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) at the Punjab University's Institute of Administrative Science (IAS), concluded on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Punjab University (PU) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran said knowledge was the ultimate thing that mattered in this world because a country's survival, dignified living and dominance in the comity of nations was dependent upon creation and dissemination of knowledge.

He said there were 6800 PhDs in Manchester University alone having student strength of 35000 as compared to a total number of 4000 PhDs in over 150 Pakistani universities.

Earlier, Director IAS and founder of HRDC Dr Zafar Iqbal Jadoon and Dr Nasira Jabeen informed the audience that so far 4000 freshly-recruited faculty members had been imparted training to acclimatise them with the academic and research culture of university at the start of their careers.

Later, Dr Kamran distributed certificates amongst the participating faculty members of the orientation programme. PU Registrar Prof Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan was also present. The news
