Sindh Education Dept issued offer letters Junior school teachers
Karachi:The Sindh Education Department on Tuesday started the process of issuing offer letters to Junior School Teacher (JST).

The offer letters are being issued at the office of District Office (DO), Education, Secondary and Higher Secondary, Boltan Market. According to District Officer, Education (Secondary and Higher Secondary-Male), Shabbir Jokhio, 44 male and over 150 female would receive offer letters of a three year contract to work as junior school teachers.

“The authority concerned could extend the contracts in future or it could also offer them regular jobs in the education sector but all this would depend on the requirements in the sector and the judgement of the controlling authority,” he added while talking to The News.

The World Bank has sponsored the project which aims to raise the standard of teaching and facilities of education in Pakistan. In 2008, the government had advertised the vacancies. However, the written test of Higher Secondary Teachers (HST), Junior School Teachers and Primary School Teachers (PST) were conducted on 24, 25 and 26 April 2009 respectively at National Stadium.

Due to the incidents of mismanagement, which were reported during the tests, the authority concerned cancelled the result of the PST and HST test. A month later, on May 24 and 26, 2009, the written test of PST and HST were carried out at the EXPO Centre. However, no test for JST was called and result was declared on the basis of the previous test.

The department is likely to issue offer letters of HST from Monday. All successful candidates are requested to visit the office of District Officer, Education (Secondary and Higher Secondary), Boltan Market to collect their respective letters, Jokhio said. The news
