FJWU Highlights ‘vulnerable’ human rights in Pakistan
RAWALPINDI:24 May: The Ministry of Law, Justice and Human Rights, in collaboration with the Gender Studies Department of the Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), Rawalpindi organised a seminar on human rights education at the Fatiam Jinnah Women University (FJWU) on Saturday, sources said. A large number of students along with faculty members participated in the seminar. The seminar commenced with remarks by Ministry of Law, Justice and Human Rights Deputy Director Zulfiqar Ali Jhammat followed by the Capital Administration & Development Division (CA&DD) Social Welfare Director Arif Shamim, Director (Social Welfare) who briefed participants about the challenges and prospects in realisation of the rights of vulnerable segments of the society. Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Jhammat stressed that the government of Pakistan is committed towards promotion and protection of human rights and shared a number of initiatives being taken to create conducive environment in terms of human rights. He appreciated the efforts of the team of the Fatima Jinnah Women University for taking ever important initiative to bring attitudinal change in the society and to create awareness among the masses. FJWU Social Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Naheed Zia Khan during her concluding remarks acknowledged the role of the Ministry of Labour and Human Resource (MoLJHR) for leading the Seminar and stressed for conducting similar programmes for sensitisation of students of all the departments.Daily Times.
