MoST Secretary Visits NUST
Islamabad : 20 September : Ministry of Science and Technology Secretary Kamran Ali Qureshi paid his maiden visit to the main campus of the National University of Sciences and Technology on Thursday.
After a meeting with NUST Rector Engr Muhammad Asghar, the visiting dignitary was given a detailed briefing on the functioning and rapid growth of NUST, and was also apprised of the university’s future plans, including establishment of a 500-bed teaching hospital and the NUST Science and Technology Park. The secretary lauded the efforts of NUST management, faculty and scholars towards developing the institution as a centre of excellence in Pakistan.
He stressed the need to promote quality education and insisted that other institutes of higher education emulate the precedent set by NUST. He was later conducted to the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Research Centre for Modelling and Simulation, School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and Offices of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation. pr.
