LAHORE:01 March: Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Punjab have finalised arrangements to hold Matric annual examination 2014 across the province today (Saturday).
As per details, a total of 3,748 examination centres have been established across the province in which 2142,511 candidates including 431279 in BISE Lahore, 409496 from BISE Gujranwala, 140807 from Bahawalpur, 128609 from DG KHan, 185142 Multan, 158085 in Sargodha, 285059 in Faisalabad, 183039 in Rawalpindi and 221013 from Sahiwal will appear in the examination.
Addressing a press conference BISE Lahore and Inter Boards Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) Chairman Dr Muhammad Nasrullah Virk and Controller Examination Anwar Farooq at Board Examination Centres on Friday, told the media that that pre-conduct, conduct and post conduct phases of the examination had been made fully automated for the first time in the history of the Lahore board to ensure transparency. On the occasion, Dr Virk said online registration and submission of fee and admission forms were made possible through a most modern computerized system adopted in collaboration of Urban Unit Punjab.
Dr Virk said that 89,386 boys and 59,424 girls would participate in Matric Part -I Science Group while 46824 boys and 50066 girls would appear in Arts group Part-I in the Lahore
Board. Similarly,51346 boys and 43836 girls of Science group and 40315 boys and 50082 girls of Arts will appear in 10th class examination. He said that examination staff of the BISE had been provided training at district level to ensure service delivery and transparency of the exams. He said the Punjab government had imposed Section 144 around the examination centres while Chief Secretary Office, all DCOs, DPOs and Chairman of the concerned board will observe the examination through the online system.
Dr Virk said that marking of the papers also would be monitored by senior officers and subject specialists through the automated system.
During a presentation, BISE Lahore Controller Anwar Farooq said that 275 mobile inspection teams had also been constituted, which would pay surprise visits to examination centres to discourage cheating mafia, he maintained. Online roll number slips of the candidates have been up-loaded besides sending sms to them.
