Compulsory Education Ordinance likely this week’
Lahore:21 October:A REPORT by the Standing Committee on Education about the Punjab Free and Compulsory Education Ordinance was laid before the house by Engr Qamar-ul-Islam Raja, Chairman Standing Committee on Education, and is likely to be passed by the house in the ongoing week.
Talking to The News, Engr Raja said the committee had made many amendments in the Punjab Free and Compulsory Education Ordinance 2014 after extensive deliberations in a number of meetings and it was most likely to be passed by the house as recommended by the committee.
Raja also told the media that three more bills regarding education have been introduced and handed over to the committee for deliberations, which include Punjab Curriculum and Text book Board Ordinance 2014, Merger of Punjab Curriculum Authority and Punjab Textbook Board, the much-awaited Punjab Higher Education Commission Ordinance 2014, and the NUR International University Lahore Ordinance 2014.
The chairman said the committee will start holding its meetings immediately after the conclusion of the ongoing session and try its best to conclude the assigned task within the specified time.The news.
