Balochistan University faculty members Visit NBF
Islamabad:September 08:A 25-member delegation of faculty members of Balochistan University visited National Book Foundation (NBF) here on Monday, says a press release.

They took keen interest in the books published by NBF and others publishers found for sale in the main bookshop at NBF. The members of delegation purchased books of their choices on discounted rates. They also visited National Book Museum, National Book Park and others areas of the head office.

NBF Managing Director Dr. Inam-ul-Haq Javeid, expressing his views in the meeting with the Balochistan University delegation, said that the books are the messenger of peace and help us create an atmosphere of tranquillity, harmony and softness in our minds. “The books always bring broad mindedness in the society and give us opportunity to live in peaceful atmosphere by setting aside our differences,” he said. He said that National Book Foundation has been playing a very important and pivotal role in providing low rate books to the students, teachers and book-lovers by introducing Readers Club Scheme throughout the country even at far-flung areas of the country. He further said that remarkable role of NBF in dissemination of knowledge and literacy among the people through books has been acknowledged by all and sundry.

Dr Inam-ul-Haq Javeid told the delegation that for fulfillment of NBF aims, goals and targets, its team has been working day and night.

The members of the delegation of Balochistan University shared their views with the managing director on textbooks development for their province and further asked NBF to give them Readers Club Scheme Cards for purchasing books at the handsome discounted rates. The managing director said that in Academic Session 2014-15, NBF as Federal Textbook Board developed and published textbooks from Grade-I to Grade-XII on the international standard with beautiful layout, design and format. He said that Foundation’s textbooks are taught throughout the country including Balochistan and we have been receiving very positive feedback.

NBF Book Ambassador Murtaza Noor, who arranged this study trip of academicians and professors of Balochistan to Islamabad, lauded the intensive efforts of MD Dr. Inam-ul-Haq Javeid and his team in dissemination of knowledge and literacy in the country even in remote areas. He also appreciated the useful programmes, such as Readers Club Scheme, Volunteers Scheme and others book promotion activities for the book-lovers in Pakistan at very fast pace. At this event, Secretary Aftab Soomro and others NBF officers were also present and shared the views of the guests.The news.
