‘One-man one-position’ policy introduced in UET
PESHAWAR: March 16: Vice-Chancellor University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Prof Dr Iftikhar Hussain on Tuesday announced ‘one-man one-position’ policy in the university.

Speaking at a function organised by the Engineering University Teachers’ Association (EUTA), Prof Dr Iftikhar Hussain said that there were a number of issues which needed to be resolved.  “Being a faculty member, I am aware of the problems faced by faculty and students,” he said.

He added after taking charge as vice-chancellor, he took up the issue of accreditation with the Pakistan Engineering Council. He also assured of resolving the issues related to contractual appointment.

The vice-chancellor announced to decentralise the scrutiny of the faculty and announced that it would be done by the chairperson of the departments concerned. Prof Dr Iftikhar Hussain also announced one-man one-position policy in the university.

Earlier, Dr Abdul Shakoor, president of EUTA, in his welcome address congratulated Dr Iftikhar Hussain on taking charge as the vice-chancellor. He assured the vice-chancellor of the faculty’s support to take the university to new heights in the field of engineering education.The news.
