High achievers: Private colleges take the lead in intermediate exam
LAHORE:17 September: Boys from private colleges took the lead in this year’s Lahore board intermediate annual examinations. A girl and two boys shared the third position among the overall position holders.
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) announced the names of position holders at its offices on Friday.

Ubaidullah Muhammad Naeem from the Punjab College of Science stood first securing 1,054 marks out of 1,100. The second position was clinched by Usman Khalid from the Pak-Turk International Higher Secondary School. He obtained 1,052 marks. The third position was shared by Ahmed Zia from the KIPS College for Boys, Sibghatallah Anwar from the Punjab College for Women and Muhammad Umar Hassan from the Punjab College of Science. They scored 1,045 marks each.

Newly-appointed BISE Chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Ismail said, “The board has taken care in compiling the results… we have thrice checked the results.”

In the pre-engineering (boys) group, Ubaidullah Muhammad Naeem was declared first, Usman Khalid second and Ahmed Zia third.

In the pre-engineering (girls) group, Sibghatallah Anwar stood first, Minahil Raza from the Kinnaird College for Women stood second with 1,041 marks and Michelle Akaishi from the Punjab College for Women stood third with 1,039 marks.

In the pre-medical (boys) group, Muhammad Umar Hassan from the Punjab College of Science clinched the first position by securing 1,045 marks. Tajammul Hayat from the Government College University (GCU) grabbed the second position by obtaining 1,042 marks. The third position was shared by Hafiz Sohail Ashraf from the GCU and Touseefur Rehman from the Pak-Turk International Higher Secondary School by securing 1,041 marks each.

In the pre-medical (girls) group, Ruhma Malik from the KIPS Intermediate Girls College stood first by getting 1,043 marks. The second position was secured by Dania Jamil from the KIPS Intermediate Girls College with 1,042 marks. The third position was shared by Maleeha Zubair Chawala from the KIPS Intermediate Girls College, Dur-i-Najaf from the Punjab College for Women and Ainul Haq from the Punjab College for Women. They secured 1,041 marks each.

In the general science (boys) group, Hamzah Baig from the GCU was declared first with 1,022 marks. Hafiz Muhammad Ahmed from the GCU secured the second position by obtaining 1,020 marks. The third position was secured by Muhammad Zaid from the Punjab College of Information Technology. He scored 1,017 marks.

In the general science (girls) group, Khadija Kamran from the Kinnaird College for Women was declared first with 1,022 marks. The second position was secured by Amna Iqbal from the Punjab College for Women. She has obtained 1,015 marks. Sameen Mehtab from the Punjab College for Women secured the third position by securing 1,014 marks.

In the commerce (boys) group, Muhammad Haris from the Punjab College of Commerce was declared first with 1,004 marks. The second position was secured by Muhammad Umar from the Punjab College of Commerce, who obtained 1,003 marks. Punjab College of Commerce’s Syed Muneeb Ali stood third with 992 marks.

In the commerce (girls) group, Kiran Ejaz from the Punjab College for Women secured the first position by obtaining 1,010 marks. Esha Fatima from the Punjab College for Women was declared second. The third position was secured by Afnan Zubair from the Punjab College for Women.

In the humanities (boys) group, Shah Nawaz from the GCU obtained 956 marks to stand first. The second position was secured by private candidate Rayyan Abdul Khaliq and the third position by Muhammad Ishaq from the GCU Lahore. In the humanities (girls) group, Lubna Bunyad, a private candidate, from Nankana Sahib, clinched the first position. The second position was secured by Ume Laila from the Queen Mary College. Rimza Kanwal, a private candidate from Lahore, stood third with 974 marks.
