Rs.10m grant for Kohat Cadet College


Peshawar: The NWFP Minister for Finance, Eng. Muhammad Hamayun Khan announced a grant of Rs. 10 million for the Cadet College Kohat during a grand and auspicious gathering of Elite Educational Institutions Talent Gala 2008 held at the college premises on Tuesday. The Principal of the college Brig. Retd. Inamul Haq, a large number of distinguished guests and cadets of different colleges attended the Gala. Students of Military College Jehlum, Fazaia Inter College Kohat, Garrison Cadet College Kohat, Cadet College Razmak and Fazle Haq College Mardan participated in the Gala competitions.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister Finance appreciated the idea of organizing the "elite educational institutions talent Gala" and paid tributes to the college administration for its efforts in selecting students from various institutions. He said such like forums were must as it ensures national integration and cohesion, besides promoting feelings of brotherhood and friendship which is the need of the hour. He said the students of the cadet colleges would be future leaders, executives, doctors, engineers and brave valiant members of the armed forces.

Humayun Khan said, "The country is passing through difficult times these days and the government is doing every thing possible to sail to these times with tenacity, will- power and determination, it is these potentials leaders on whose shoulders lie the difficult task of building the dear motherland and taking it to the highest of power and glory". He said those were highly competitive times and only the best would excel. He called upon the young cadets to display a tribute of devotion, hard work, strong moral fiber, honesty of purpose, high integrity and above all love and affection and willingness to lead the country on the path of progress and prosperity. The minister lauded the quality education the college is imparting to the all segments of the society on equal basis. He said he had joined this elite college in 1976 but after 32 years, he fully feel too warm of a budding cadet. He said this institution gave him tremendous confidence and instilled in him a tributes of exemplary conduct and discipline. He disclosed that NWFP Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti would soon visit the college and would solve its problems.

The cadets of different colleges presented heart feel thrilling speeches on the climates and catastrophes in the world in general and Pakistan in particular which were greatly eulogized by the audience. Earlier, the principal of the college presented welcome address and highlighted historical background and achievements of college. Earlier, the Finance Minister gave away medals, shields and certificates to the winners of English - Urdu declamation contest. The best champion trophy went to the Military College Jehlum. On reaching the venue, the Minister was accorded warm welcome by the young cadets. F.P Report
