Seminar on self-assessment programme held at PMAS-AAUR
ISLAMABAD:June 15: A seminar on 'self-assessment programme' was held on Wednesday at Pir Mehr Ali Shah, Arid Agriculture University (PMASAAU), Rawalpindi to highlight the weaknesses in the self-assessment reports in order to streamline the programmes and enhance quality of education and research as well as student development.
The seminar was organised by the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of the University. QEC Director Professor Dr Riaz Ahmad and Assistant Director Ainee Zaffar were the resource persons. A large number of programme team members from various departments of the university attended the seminar. University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rai Niaz Ahmed was the chief guest of the seminar.

While inaugurating the seminar, the VC said that self-assessment provides framework to evaluate and improve academic programmes and also provides an opportunity to cope with threats and convert the weaknesses into strengths. He further urged the faculty to promote research at the varsity. "We must focus on valuable research that have direct impact on our society and steer the country towards prosperity and development," he said.

He lauded the efforts of Professor Riaz Ahmad for embedding quality standards for uplift of the varsity. He also congratulated the QEC Director and his squad as well as the faculty for the improvement of varsity's ranking from 220 to 204 out of 516 universities of the world in UI Green Metric World University Ranking 2016.Daily Times.
