SSUET to organise moot on bio-medical engineering
Karachi:23 June:The Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) will organise an international conference on bio-medical engineering and medical sciences in the second week of October 2017, an official announced on Thursday.
According to the official, the two-day conference, which will be held as part of the celebration activities on the eve of the 200th birth anniversary of great reformer, educationist and visionary Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, aims to address new developments in the domain of biomedical engineering and medical sciences.
“The conference will host talks of internationally renowned speakers from industry, academics and research institutes. The Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association has declared the year 2017 as the year for celebrating the 200th birth anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan.”
He mentioned that a number of celebratory events had already been held under the aegis of the SSUET and the Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association, while more are to follow during the year – the biggest being Sir Syed Day to be observed on October 17.
He said that a 14-member Organising Committee comprises Professor Dr MA Haleem, chairman of the Bio-Medical Engineering Department, Dr Bushra Jabeen Mehdi, Dr Engr. Zia Mohy-ud-Din, Dr Darakshan M Saleem, Dr Mariam Raziq, Dr Engineer Eraj Humayun Mirza, Dr Uzma Mahmood, Engineer Nadia Sikandar, Engineer Muhammed Muzzamil Khan, Engineer Syed Fahad Akbar Ali, Engineer Shafia Tabassum, Engineer Syed Muhammed Oamar, Engineer Nageen Shahid and Engineer Sania Tanvir.
