Two-day council meeting of College of Physicians and Surgeons
LAHORE:17 July: A two-day council meeting of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), held at regional centre, Lahore under the chairmanship of CPSP President Prof Zafarullah Chaudhry, discussed current policies and future strategies.
According to a press release issued here on Sunday, in this meeting, office-bearers from all the provinces, including Maj-Gen (r) Prof Salman Ali, Senior Vice-President CPSP, Prof Naqibullah Achakzai, Vice-President, Prof Khalid Ashrafi, Treasurer, Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, Director General International Relations, Prof Mahmood Ayyaz, Director National Residency Programme, Prof Amir Zaman Khan, Director North, Prof Rukhsana Zubairi, Director South, Prof Muhammad Tayyab, Prof Waqar Alam Jan from Peshawar, Prof Robina Zubair from Karachi, Prof Ghulam Mujtaba from Multan, Prof Asghar Butt from Faisalabad, Prof Shoaib Shafi and Prof Rizwana Chaudhry participated from Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Pakistan Army was represented by Maj-Gen Sohail Hafeez and Maj-Gen Muhammad Aslam Khan.

The council reviewed problems and policies about the trainee doctors and the effective monitoring has been made mandatory. President CPSP said the policies of the college are unanimously implemented with affiliated institutions within the country and abroad. The council is trying to implement the unanimous training system and monitoring in public, private and armed forces’ institutions.

In this regards, the facilities of the college have been made instrumental and the quarterly feedback of supervisors has been made mandatory. The E-log monitoring system of CPSP is acknowledged in the world. The drawback of the training system will be overcome with the help of this monitoring system. President Zafarullah Chaudhry said the fellows and post-graduate trainee doctors of CPSP have proved themselves good ambassadors of the country and earned a lot of foreign exchange. The acknowledgement of medical profession is an honour for all of us. The college is establishing its new centres within the country at Gwadar and Gilgit-Baltistan and centres at Dublin and Birmingham to facilitate the fellows of CPSP.The news.
