IBA Sukkur, SEF launch teacher training programme
Karachi:July 22:The Institute of Business Administration, Sukkur, has collaborated with Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) to launch the first phase of the SEF-Assisted School Teachers’ Capacity Building Programme across the province.
According to an IBA Sukkur official, the SEF Assisted Schools (SAS) programme is a mix of the Integrated Education Learning Programme (IELP) and Rural Based Community School (RBCS) programmes. The project, he said, was one of SEF’s largest schemes as around 3,810 teachers from primary and secondary schools across Sindh would be trained over the course's duration.

He mentioned that a 15-day training had commenced for teachers of SEF Assisted Schools in the districts of Sukkur, Khairpur, Larkana and Dadu. “This 15-day training programme has around 600 teachers. Four sessions are going on simultaneously in the mentioned districts. The next phase will focus on training secondary school teachers,” he said, adding that the training methodology devised by IBA Sukkur includes lectures, models, videos and other new-age tools.

He said that this training focuses on enhancing content knowledge and improving pedagogical skills of teachers in English, science, mathematics and social studies: “The trainers are using textbooks and Student Learning Outcomes from national curriculum as a resource and their core objective is to familiarise the teachers with the content in the books in such a manner that they are acquainted with all the key ideas.”The news.
