Khyber Medical College provide teaching allowance
PESHAWAR:13 AUGUST: The clinical faculty comprising of 44 doctors including registrar, assistant professors, associate professors and professors of Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) on Saturday asked the dean of the Khyber Medical College (KMC) to provide them teaching allowance.

In a press release, the doctors said that their fellow colleagues had been receiving the allowance while they were being deprived of it.

The doctors said that they also taught and trained the postgraduate students and worked as visiting consultants, but they had been deprived of the teaching allowance.

They said that terms and conditions of their work were the same but the employees of the clinical faculty were not entitled to teaching allowance.

According to the doctors, they had equal representation at the Academic Council, which was the supreme body running the affairs of the KMC.

They dismissed the notion that clinical faculty had been earning by running private clinics. They urged that government to approve teaching allowance for the clinical faculty.
