School Reforms Roadmap: Performing districts to receive rewards
LAHORE:November 14: The provincial government has decided to reward administrative officers of schools who performed well and bagged top positions in the recent review of all districts of the province. Administrators of the top five districts and the best-performing division will be given financial rewards for their work. The Punjab government released its school rankings for districts and divisions for the first quarter of 2017-18. It measured performances of public schools in all the 36 districts and the nine divisions of Punjab. The ranking was part of Chief Minister’s School Reforms Roadmap and used literacy and numeracy indicators by measuring test results of English, Math and Urdu, student and teacher attendance, student retention, infrastructure and facilities and administrative staff monitoring. The notification said that administrators and chief executive officers (CEOs) of district education authorities (DEAs) of the top districts and commissioner of the top division would be entitled to receive an honorarium equivalent of two months’ gross salary.
