Allama Iqbal’s philosophy lauded at Government College University
LAHORE :23 November:The philosophy of Allama Muhammad Iqbal will always remain a guiding principle for the humanity, but, it’s unfortunate that the younger generation of Pakistan does not know much about it.
This was stated by National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), Pakistan Executive Director Zulfiqar Ahmed Cheema while addressing a seminar organised by Government College University, Lahore, in connection with the 140th birth anniversary of the Poet of the East, according to a press release issued here on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Qirtas Literary Society of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) organised different competitions including sketching and calligraphy as part of Iqbal Day events with the theme of Nashist-e-Iqbal on Wednesday. According to a press release issued here, in Nazam competition, Aliza Fatima, won 1st position, Umair Sultan got 2nd while Zeeshan stood 3rd. In Tahtul Lafz competition, Aliza Fatima won 1st position, Aiman Ramzi got 2nd while Samra Gillani stood 3rd.
In Bait Bazi competition, Institute of Biochemistry & Biotechnology (IBBT) team won 1st position and Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS) team got 2nd position. In sketching competition, Atika Alvi won 1st position, Ifrah Irshad got 2nd and Mehreen Hamid stood 3rd. In calligraphy competition, Abdullah won 1st position, Javeriya Khalid got 2nd while Asad Munir stood 3rd. Renowned poet Zahid Shamsi and Cartoonist Jawed Iqbal were the chief guest. Later, Zahid Shamsi, Jawed Iqbal and UVAS VC Prof Dr Talat Naseer distributed shields and certificates among the winners.The news.
