University of Peshawar pensioners to move court if demands not met
PESHAWAR:November 25: The retired employees of the University of Peshawar (UoP), including former faculty members, have asked the administration to address their problems including timely payment of pension.
Through a statement on Friday, the pensioners said they had to wait for several days to receive their pension.
They asked the administration of the university to resolve the issue forthwith as they had to take care of their families.
“Pensions are the only source of income for many families and it must be paid timely,” the statement reads.
They said that most of the pensioners had not received increments. They blamed the UoP administration for delayed payments. The retired professors also demanded PhD allowance, adding it was their right and must be paid to all retired professors till death. They warned of taking the issue to the court if their right was not given to them. The news.
