Varsity lauded for awarding scholarships
PESHWAR:Lahore 26 november: Various organisations working for rights of the minorities on Saturday appreciated the administration of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) for awarding free scholarships to minorities’ students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for their good grades in the intermediate and secondary school certificate examinations.
Speaking at an event organised to share details about the award of scholarships at the Peshawar Press Club, the participants said the initiative would help the talented students from minorities to receive higher education.
The National Lobbying Delegation for Minorities Rights Pakistan, All Pakistan Hindu Panchayat and the administration of Peshawar Press Club had organised the event.
Haroon Sarb Diyal of National Lobbying Delegation for Minorities Rights Pakistan, PPC vice president Faridullah Khan, Ashok Kapor of
Awami National Party and others were present on the occasion.
They said that the scholarships were awarded under the National Outreach Programme of LUMS University.
They said that the minority students having scored 80 percent or above marks in the intermediate and secondary school certificate examinations were awarded the scholarships.
