Educational institutions to remain closed for two days
Rawalpindi:27 November: All public and private schools, colleges and universities in the province including Rawalpindi will remain close today (Monday) and tomorrow (Tuesday) due to the law and order situation in the province particularly the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Punjab government on Sunday decided to close down all educational institutions and a notification has been issued in this regard.

Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashood Ahmed has confirmed that all educational institutions (public and private) in the province will remain close on November 27 and 28.

He said that this closure could be extended if situation does not improve and fresh announcement will be made accordingly. The decision to keep schools, colleges and universities closed on November 27 and 28 was taken following protests by religious parties across the province.

The religious parties were on sit-in protest here at Faizabad Interchange for the last of 21 days.

According to Punjab School Education Department (SED) Secretary Dr. Allah Baksh Malik who also reiterated that the decision was made due to prevalent law and order situation, adding that the department had received directions from the provincial government. A notification has been issued by the SED to concerned officials in this regard.

The District Education Authorities (DEAs) Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) have also issued orders to the relevant officials. “The Competent Authority has announced two days (November 27 and 28 2017) closure of all public and private schools. All field officers and head teachers are requested to inform parents to not send students to schools during these two days. All schools (public and private) will remain closed.”

It may be recalled that protests across Pakistan erupted after federal government decided to take action against protesters in Faizabad. The situation is serious since then as countless protests have closed roads across major cities in the country. The news.
