Sports Gala held at City School
Islamabad:February 16: The ‘One Team One Dream Sports Gala 2018’ was held by the Junior Section of The City School, E-11 Campus, says a press release.

The fantastic turnout of parents and the pleasant weather were the perfect boost for the students on their much awaited event. The playground of the school was filled with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere, decorated beautifully with buntings, ribbons and flags, following the theme of the event, yellow and white.

The aim was to encourage the inner talent of a child in the field of sports as a sound mind resides in a sound body. Sports and games help in large muscle co-ordination resulting in physical fitness apart from inculcating sportsmanship, leadership, unity and competitive spirit among the students. It is pertinent to mention that 100% participation of the students from the Junior Section was witnessed.

The programme commenced with an energetic welcome song by the choir. The chief guest, Shireen Jawaid, the Regional Director of North, graced the occasion with her presence. She addressed the esteemed gathering and emphasised on the importance of sports in a child’s life. She felt over-whelmed to witness the amazing performances of students one after another and not to over-look the outstanding discipline and management of the entire event. She appreciated and inspired the students to excel in all fields of education.

The students performed a wide array of colourful and unbelievable displays such as: March past, singing, sword show, sticks, nun-chucks, yoga, head-stand, gymnastics and much more in martial arts besides cheer leading and variety of races. They mesmerised the audience with their vibrant performances.

In the end, as a token of recognition, the chief guest awarded the winners with medals and teachers with appreciation certificates for putting in a lot of effort. The school Principal Shahmina Kamal and the Regional Director Shireen Jawaid applauded the Headmistress of Junior Section Safia Jawad and her entire team for organizing such a well-coordinated and disciplined event and thus making it a huge success on 40 years celebration of The City School. The news.
