LAHORE:March 16:Renowned peace activist and political analyst, Mr OP Shah visited Beaconhouse National University (BNU) Thursday.

According to a press release, he was accompanied by member of the Board of Governors, BNU, former foreign minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri. During his visit to BNU, Shah called on Vice-Chancellor, Shahid Hafiz Kardar, Deans and faculty. He also delivered a talk at the university auditorium attended by faculty and students.

Shah has been an active social activist in India and his work in Kashmir and other disputed areas are noteworthy. He visited J&K many a time in the past 25 years and spent considerable time with people in distress, visited jails, interrogation centres and refugee camps. PITB: A delegation from Balochistan government led by provincial Secretary Science and Technology Aftab Ahmad Baloch visited the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to seek technological assistance in various sectors here on Thursday.

The senior officers of PITB briefed the delegation about the technological interventions being practiced in Punjab. Director General Governance Sajid Latif, Waqar Naeem Qureshi DG, IT Solutions, and Saima Raoof Shaikh, Director Training and Development, gave presentations to the delegation on education, health, e-Vaccs, law and order, police, revenue, e-Khidmat, e-Rozgaar, e-Stamping, Plan9 incubation centre and other various projects, which have started delivering encouraging resulted in real and stipulated time.

The delegation was informed that PITB was already extending assistance and necessary training to the government of Balochistan for automation of police, law and health sectors on complimentary basis. The delegation identified the new area of interest including e-filing, education, data centre, etc.The news.
