Students visit Takht Bhai archaeological sites
PESHAWAR:March 23: Thirty students, both male and female, and faculty members visited the archaeological site during a study tour to the famous Buddhist complex in Takht Bhai.

The study tour was jointly organised by the Career Development Centre, University of Peshawar, and the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) for the students.

In-charge Tourist Information Centre (TIC), Peshawar, Saeed Khan briefed the students and faculty members about the importance of history of the archaeological site and Buddhist complex in Takht Bhai.

“We organised the study tour in a bid to apprise the students of various educational institutes of the religious, cultural and archaeological sites, heritage and history so they could know about these important aspects of the past glory of the region and people,” Saeed Khan said, while briefing the participants at the Buddhist monastery.

He said the TIC had earlier also organized a number of events and programmes related to culture, history, archaeology, scenic sites and heritage at the educational institutions of the province to make the students aware of our history, culture and traditions. Hailing the arrangement of study tours for students, they said it was very useful as they learned a lot during the visit to the historic and archaeological site.

They suggested the relevant departments to also organize study tours, workshops and seminars and adventure tourism activities for the students so that they could be apprised of the history, culture, traditions and heritage in the shortest possible time. The news.
