Collaboration with foreign Universities must Minister for Education Panjab

Report LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Education and Excise & Taxation, Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman has said that collaboration between the international universities and national universities will enhance opportunities for talented students for achieving quality education of international standard within the country at affordable expenses. He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony in connection with Split Degree Programme launching held at Superior University Campus Raiwind Road today. Rector Superior University Prof. Dr. Ch. Abdul Rehman, Director Business Development Binary University Malaysia Prof. Gilbert Alvin and Prof. Chung Cheng Hoe also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the salient feature of Split Degree Programme. The Minister said that Superior University is the fastest growing institute with more than 15 thousand students at its various campuses. It is pertinent to mention that due to its academic standard and sound pedagogical records Superior University is now renowned as one of the A category Universities of Pakistan as duly acknowledged by Higher Education Commission. Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman said that launching of Split Degree Programme with the cooperation of Binary University Malaysia will enhance the opportunities for Pakistani students desirous of acquiring higher education of international standard. It is encouraging that the Binary University Malaysia is one of the best university of world and their mission is aligning ours which is to achieve the highest international standard in education and to be committed to continue knowledge development through research. The education Minister said that under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the Punjab government is taking practical steps for the provision of quality education and has allocated 60 percent budget for education sector. In addition to that for the support of talented needy students Chief Minister Punjab has launched endowment fund scheme for this purpose at the cost of Rs.2 billion.
