VC UET Peshawar stresses for developing relations

PESHAWAR (APP): Vice-Chancellor University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gillani has said that relations among academic institutions and industries are inevitable and both sections have to struggle for the development of country. He expressed these views while addressing a seminar ‘Industry-Academia Linkage’ arranged with collaboration of Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Center (PASTIC), Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA), Directorate of Science and Technology NWFP and Delta Pharma. Chairman Pakistan Scientific Foundation (PSF), Dr. N. M. Butt, Chief Scientific Officer PSF Dr. Manzoor Ahmad Soomro, Provincial Chief SMEDA Javed Iqbal Khattak, Dean of Management Sciences Sarhad University Dr. S M Taha, Director Science and Technology NWFP Khalid Khan, Consultant Management Tariq Mashwani, Chairman Mechanical Department UET Irfan Mufti, Director PASDEC Shahidur Rehman and President Nowshera Industrial Estate Ashfaq Paracha participated in the seminar held to highlight the role of relationship among the academia and industry. Imtiaz Hussain Gillani urged the experts of both sectors to conduct research according to the needs and called upon industrialists to extend their cooperation with to academia and asked experts to work jointly on projects that could mostly benefit industries. Former Vice-Chancellor University of Peshawar and Dean Faculty of Life and Environment Sciences Dr. Muhammad Javed Khan shared his expert opinion with participants. Chief Guest concluding session of seminar President Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Haji Muhammad Asif while addressing the seminar assured full cooperation to academicians on behalf of industrialists. He appreciated PSF on successful holding of seminar whereas Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) thanked the participants while sharing his ideas.
