Allama Iqbal Open University will hold MA TEFL workshop begins tomorrow.
Islamabad:The Department of English Language and Applied Linguistics, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will hold eight thesis workshops for 560 students of MA TEFL, enrolled in Autumn 2008 semester. These workshops will held in main campus of AIOU and its regional campus Lahore from February 23 to April 11, said a press release issued here.
Thesis workshop is mandatory component of research thesis. It aims at imparting the students a comprehensive understanding of research methods, their theoretical and practical application. The workshop sessions are structured in order to give the students practice in choosing a research topic and writing a research proposal.
They are also made familiar with the different commonly used research methods and finally how to write it up and present in a proper and acceptable form. It would be highly appreciated if the students read the research methodology book which the department has sent to them earlier in their study package. Workshop intimation letters have already been sent to the students advising them to identify the research area or topic in which they intend to do research for discussion with the experts during the group work sessions.
