Provision of Training for Refrigerant Technicians in Sindh, Pakistan

Montreal Protocol: Pakistan is a signatory of the Montreal Protocol and the London Amendment in 1992 and the Copenhagen Amendment in 1995 where member countries are in obligation to control the consumption of CFCs.

Refrigerant & Industry: Pakistan did not produce CFCs or ODS, the entire requirement of these refrigerants is fulfilled by imports. Major portion of the CFC consumption is in the refrigeration service sector in Pakistan; 770 MT reported in 1999, 563 and 614 MT surveyed in 2001 and 2002.  As far as consumption of CFCs and obligation in terms of the Montreal Protocol is concerned, Pakistan has been in compliance with the control measure in the past and will continue to be in compliance.
