DUET VC programme is to sort out solutions to engineering problems
Karachi:May 18:The Dawood University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) has decided to adopt the Outcome-Based Education System on the directives of Pakistan Engineering Council.

According to a press release issued on Thursday, the programme is aimed to sort out solutions to engineering problems which cannot be resolved without in-depth engineering knowledge. This decision was made by DUET Vice Chancellor Dr Faizullah Abbasi in the 8th meeting of academic council held a day earlier. Abbasi also approved the minutes of the last meeting of the academic council.

Pakistan Peoples Party Senator Taj Haider, College Education Department Additional Secretary Faqeer Muhammad Lakho, DUET Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Pir Roshan Din Shah Rashdi and others attended the meeting.

The faculties and members of the academic council approved Master of Sciences (MS) and PhD programmes in industrial engineering, the statement added. It was also discussed that the syndicate will approach PEC and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan to get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science programmes.

They also examined rules for PhD programmes, fees structure, on-campus academic activities, and status of the current session year. On the occasion, VC Faizullah Abbasi vowed that DUET aimed to promote research culture in the field of engineering. He said all the faculties’ members were struggling to conduct regular classes for the students and were also focusing on research projects being undertaken by final year students.The news.
