Security at entrance test centres
LAHORE, July 15: Foolproof security arrangements would be in place at the three centres in the city for the 2010 entrance test for admission to medical and dental colleges.

Some 12,000 candidates would appear in the test being held on July 20, a meeting presided over by DCO Sajjad Bhutta was told on Thursday.

Walkthrough gates and metal detectors would be installed at entry points to the centres at the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, University of Engineering and Technology and the University of Health Sciences.

The DCO said Civil Defence and Rescue 1122 staff and ambulances should remain at the centres during the test and special token should be issued to vehicles entering parking lots. Record of all vehicles should be maintained with the help of closed-circuit cameras.

Alternative arrangements should be made to cope with power breakdowns, loadshedding and rain.Dawn
