MULTAN: The girl's students of private Schools have outclassed boys by grabbing two out of the three top positions in the Higher Secondary School Certificate's annual examination of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Multan 2009. According to results, Ayesha Ikram of Khanewal, Roll No. 1758, has topped the overall and pre-medical group of the SSC examination by obtaining 1014 marks, Hafiz Yasir Qamar of New Multan Roll No. 30297 with 1011 marks stood second while Laraib Jameel of Multan Roll No.6914 grabbed third position respectively. The position-holders are students of Young ScholarsSecondary School for girls, Khanewal, Noukhez Public High School, New Multan and Laureates Girls High School Shah Rukn -i-Alam Colony Multan respectively. The students of Private schools have clinched the first, second and third position in Science group as Hafiz Yasir Qamar Roll No.30297 grabbed first position with 1011 marks, Muhammad Shamraiz Fuqraaz Aslam Roll No. 33162 with 1006 marks and Hafiz Muhammad Taimoor Roll No.29436 with 1005 marks obtained third position respectively. In Humanities Group,Muhammad Zaib Khan Roll No.117814 of Mian Chunnu secured Ist position by obtaining 963 marks, Shama Tahir Roll No.85278 of Government Islamia Girls High School Daulatgate Multan stood second with 961 marks while the third position was shared by Hina Arshad Roll No.92044 of Govt.Girls High School ,Chak 86/6 R Sahiwal stood third by bagging 954 marks and Qurrat-ul-ain Khan Roll No. 88096 of Nishat GirlsHigh School Multan stood fourth and third among the Girls by securing 943 marks.Controller of Examination Muhammads Asghar Ali Chaudhry briefed the newsmen that total 120313 candidates applied for admission in the examinationm ,of them 117260 appeared in the examination. Of them 66058 candidates were declared successful achieving the pass percentage 56.33. He said that 57635 candidates appeared in science group of them 42117 declared successful by making pass percentage of 73.06 and total 59,625 appeared in general group ,of them 23,941 passed making 40.15 percentage.He said that total 70087 regular candidates appeared in SSC examination, of them 45493 candidates in science group ,of them 37503 were declared successful achieving the pass percentage of 82.44. Total 24,594 regular candidates appeared in General group ,of them 12,766 were passed making pass percentage of 71.72. Total 47,173 private candidates appeared in SSC examination,of them 15789 were declared successful making pass percentage of 33.47 Highest position among the girls in Science group, Ayesha Ikram of Khanewal, Roll No. 1758, has topped, Laraib Jameel of Multan Roll No.6914 grabbed second position and Zaina Sattar (roll No.8067) of Nishat Girls High School, Multan by ontaining 1014, 1009, and 1007 marks respectively.F.P.
