European Unions delegation meets VC of University Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore
LAHORE:A TWO-member delegation of the European Unions Strengthening of Livestock Services Project (SLSP) called on University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Nawaz on Thursday and discussed with him the areas of collaboration in the livestock sector.
According to a press release, delegation comprised Dr Tony Warner, co-director of SLSP, and Dr Natalia. They discussed with the UVAS VC joint UVAS-SLSP training programmes conducted for the livestock professionals.
The VC said that the UVAS was actively involved in the training and capacity building of manpower in veterinary, animal sciences and related fields. He said the university had a full fledged department of food and nutrition to address the nutrition problem of the livestock sector.
Dr Tony stressed that extension services at grassroots level were direly needed for the development of livestock sector. Prof Dr. Muhammad Aleem and Dr Salah-Ud-Din were also present.
