Call for verifying degrees of  Larkana teachers
LARKANA, July 4: The Gazetted Officers Association (GOA) has called for verification of academic degrees of subject specialists appointed in schools and colleges.

A meeting of the association held here on Sunday urged district coordination officers to avoid posting officers to work on the ‘own pay scale’ (OPS) on the basis of adjustment basis in higher grades, which, it said, had drastically affected the working of the department.

This practice is being followed in Umerkot, Badin, Shikarpur, Kashmor, Kandhkot and several other districts in contravention of orders of the chief secretary and the services and general administration department.

The meeting said that in Khairpur district 67 subject specialists recently transferred to administrative posts and 182 in the province.

The association said that a summary to remove the subject specialists from administrative posts had been lying with the chief minister for two months.

The meeting unanimously adopted a resolution demanding removal of all non-gazetted officers appointed to gazetted officers’ posts in the province.

It also demanded removal of the time-scale bar for promotions of gazetted officers.

It urged the government to fill vacant gazetted posts through Sindh Public Service Commission and order their immediate promotion from 18 to 19 and 19 to 20 grades.

The president of association, Syed Rasool Bakhsh Shah, presided over the meeting.
