SPLA slams transfers of college teachers, to start hunger strike from today
KARACHI: The Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA) Monday demanded that the ‘unjustified’ transfer orders of teachers in various colleges of Sindh should be cancelled and also announced that teachers would stage a token hunger strike outside the press clubs in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur from Tuesday (today) that would continue till the association’s demand was accepted. Addressing a press conference at the DJ Science College, SPLA President Professor Ather Hussain asked the Sindh government to develop a proper transfer policy of college teachers while taking the association onboard. He said the Sindh Education Department’s decision to transfer 414 college teachers was unjust and there was no logic behind it. ppi
