ISO Karachi observed Al Quds Day with impassioned

Karachi:The citizens expressed solidarity with the Palestinian struggling for the liberation of Al-Quds by observing Al-Quds Day on Jumatul Wida (last Friday of the Holy Month of Ramazan). The proceedings were arranged by the Shia Ulema Council, Jafferia Students Organsation, and the Imamia Students Organisation (ISO) and a big rally was held after Jumma prayers in connection with the Al ñQuds Day on Friday.

The procession which was taken out form the Regal Chowk and terminated at the Empress Market, was addressed by the President, Shia Council, Sindh, Allama Sajid Naqvi, Moulana Nazir Abbas Naqvi, Moulana Jaffer Subhani, and Moulana Shahanshah Hussain Naqvi. The participants of the rally raised slogans against the United States and Israel. They also burnt US and Israeli flags.

In his telephonic address, Sajid Naqvi asked the Muslim Ummah to get united and struggle for the eviction of Israeli forces from the first Qibla of Muslims. He expressed his concern over the silence of the international community over the atrocities let loose by Israel on the Palestinians.

Various resolutions were also passed during the protest rally which condemned Israeli Zionist forces and US for their aggressive polices towards the Muslim world, especially Palestine. The participants of the rally cautioned the US to stop supporting Israel and force it to vacate Palestine and the first Qibla of the Muslims.

The participants also condemned targeted killings in the entire country with specific reference to the Shia clerics, especially in Quetta, Hangu, Dera Ismail Khan, Parachinar and other areas and termed it the failure of both federal and provincial governments to provide protection to the people there. They also condemned premeditated killings of Shia leaders in connivance with a group which, they said, had been tasked with wreaking havoc and killing Shias. They demanded an immediate halt to the army operation in the areas. While welcoming the decision of government regarding Gilgit and Baltistan, he announced that the Shia Ulema Council would participate in the coming elections in Gilgit

They also demanded of the government that Shia intellectuals and clerics should be taken on board while formulating educational policy, legislation, Islamic Ideology Council, and the Federal Shariat Court (FSC).

In a rally that started from Purani Numaish to Empress Market, the speakers strongly condemned Israel that had evicted the Palestinians from their lands who were now living as refugees in different parts of the world.

They vowed to continue to observe Jummat-ul-Wida as Al ñQuds day until the liberation of Al-Quds. The city witnessed massive traffic jams as people marched through various roads and arteries procession to observe Youm-Al-Quds. Heavy deployment of law-enforcement agencies was witnessed around the procession routes and at all strategic installations to maintain law and order to avoid any untoward incident.

Al-Quds is observed throughout the Muslim world on the last Friday of Ramazan to condemn the Israeli reign of terror let loose against Palestinians and other Arabs.By Shamim Bano The News
