Engineering Festival concludes at Ishaq Institute of Engineering
SWABI:19 November: Speakers on Monday asked the government to establish a national institution for identifying genius students and providing them required world-class facilities to complete in higher education in the comity of nations.

They were addressing the concluding ceremony of three days Engineering Festival at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology. Academicians and students of various universities from across the country attended the event organized by the American Society for Mechanical Engineering (ASME), GIK Institute chapter.

Prof Pervez Hoodbhoy, a prominent nuclear physicist, said there was no dearth of talent in our country. He said identifying marvellous students in diverse fields could steer the country out of the crisis in future. Pakistan, he added, would be able to achieve durable economic prosperity and political stability.

Jibran Nasir, a well-known Karachi-based rights activist, said the role of the academicians and students was extremely vital to contribute and play due role in making Pakistan great.

Rehman Allahwala, a famous entrepreneur, said the students could excel in diverse fields, especially in the industry if they use skills and capabilities and work with complete determination.

Earlier unveiling the details about the event, Hamza Farooq, ASME president, said the participants presented views and exchanged ideas. They while learnt where the present technological world was moving and what were the requirements of the industry in the present period.

In addition, the All Pakistan e-Gaming Competition was also held. It was organized by the GIK Institute Netronix Society. Faraz Hyder, president of the society, said that the 150 students of various universities and institutions participated in the competition which was divided into different parts.

The modern laboratories of the institute were used by the competitors in the three days contest. He said the contest was divided into different categories and those whose performance was outstanding were awarded. The role of the GIK Institute in successfully holding different events was lauded by the participants. They appreciated the important role played by the institute in the development of engineering sciences and producing the world-class students serving abroad.The news.
