BISE Question papers bank on the cards

LAHORE, July 16: The Punjab Higher Education Department is working to establish a question papers bank in 10 subjects at the matriculation level and 14 subjects at the intermediate level to improve question papers in particular and the examination system in general.

In order to create a talent pool of paper-setters, the Higher Education Department has selected 325 paper-setters out of 600 teachers, who had applied following advertisements in newspapers. The selected paper-setters belong to school, college and university cadres.

The boards of intermediate and secondary education have also been asked to create facilities and launch e-marking system.

The Higher Education Department organised a consultative meeting of the selected paper-setters here on Friday. Secretary Ahad Khan Cheema briefed them about the challenges being faced by the department in developing the examination system for the satisfaction of international standards.

Later, Cheema told Dawn the selected paper-setters were asked technical questions to assess their expertise, and now the department would keep on building their capacity. He said these teachers would develop a bank of multiple choice questions (MCQs) as well as subjective questions.Dawn
