Pakhtun Students Federation four candidates candidates boycott polls, announce new body

PESHAWAR (PPI): Pakhtun Students Federation four candidates for provincial presidential slot on the day of elections on Friday boycotted of the polls and announced new PSF body ‘Azad PSF’ whereas cabinet members were also announced. Speaking during a crowded news conference at Peshawar Press Club, the candidates including Asadullah Mayar, Iftekhar Mayar, Javed Iqbal and Haneef said that the Election Committee was partial and fully supported only one candidates. The candidates alleged that the committee included the names of voters on their own choices in the voters’ list, 70 per cent of the voters in their list were not the unit members that is president and general secretary of each college in the province, but they included their names just make their win sure. In the presence of hundreds of PSF activists belonging from various districts of the province, they claimed that more than 90 per cent activists support the new PSF body and boycotted from the elections. It is to be said that Asadullah Mayar was announced as provincial president, Attaullah as senior vice president, Bilal Durrani, Farid Surani, Raiz and Asif Aziz as vice president while Daulat Khan as General Secretary for Azam PSF new cabinet. The new cabinet revealed that they would also announce central cabinet members of Azam PSF very soon, adding that the new body would strive hard to work for the PSF activists and other Pakhtun students. Asadullah Mayar on the occasion said that with very sorrow it had been said that the Constitution and democratic system of PSF was abolished due to professional people, which he added that we demanded from the central an provincial advisors to include only students in the Election Committee. “We would have no link with any local party but would extend the philosophy of Bacha Khan and Khan Abdul Wali Khan,” he added. To a question he answered that the Azam PSF gets 95 per cent of PSF activists’ support. It is a merit mentioning here that Pakhtun Student Federation provincial elections scheduled to be held on 27 Feberuary (Yesterday), for which Asadullah Mayar, Javed Iqbal Yousafzai, Haneef Marwat, Iftekhar Ahmad and Majid Ali had to fight the elections, whereas four candidates among the five have some allegations and as result boycotted from the elections. “We wanted the PSF elections for provincial presidentship fair, free and transparent and every thing in this regard should have to be done in democratic way, but it could not happen so and we took the step to constitute new body and we did so,” the candidates concluded. Earlier, the activists of PSF also staged protest demonstration in front of Peshawar Press Club and blocked the road for a while. The activists chanted slogans against ANP provincial leadership and members of Elections Committee. Later on, the new president of Azad PSF Asadullah Mayar was congratulated and the activists observed Shadola to express jubilation.

PESHAWAR (APP): The office bearers of Abaseen Writers Association (AWA) here Friday congratulated Chairman Frontier Customs Agents Group NWFP, Ziaul Haq for his unopposed election on slot of Chairman All Pakistan Commercial Association (APCEA). The office bearers of Abaseen Writers Association (AWA) including its patron-chief Salahuddin Ahmed, President Mushtaq Shabab, General Secretary Saleem Aafaqai, executive members Nasir Ali Syed, Fahmeeda Butt, Dr Salahuddin, Waseem Shahid and others members expressed their heart-felt facilitation to the member executive committee AWA and noted columnist Ziaul Haq Sarhadi for his unopposed election as Chairman in the APCEA election, says a press release. They hoped that Zarhadi will utilize all his energies for promotion of trade and industrial activities in the province and will work day and night for solution of traders and industrialists problems.
