MS Remote System and Geographical Information Systems
The MS in Remote System (RS) and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) is intended to give an opportunity to the students for exploring dynamic and growing fields. RS and GIS have quickly become integral part of information management. The scope of the Geo-informatics industry is expanding as an increasing number of disciplines are adopting GIS technologies. Graduates of the program will possess the expertise to contribute into a wide range of GIS projects in both the private and public sectors. Graduates with interdisciplinary education and experience are attractive candidates for a wide variety of employment opportunities. IGIS will start offering PhD in RS/GIS in 2007 when it moves to its new premises in H-12 sector of Islamabad. So far, the Institute is offering specialization in the following disciplines: Natural Resource Management (NRM) Environmental Management (EM) Urban and Regional Planning (URP) Socio-economic and Infrastructure Development (SID) Geoinformatics (GM)
