Rs 75m for University of Education Okara Campus
OKARA:March 01: The University of Education (UoE) Okara campus has received a grant of Rs 75 million for construction of a library and nine classrooms.
This was said by Provincial Parliamentary Secretary MPA Mian Muhammad Munir while addressing an annual prize distribution ceremony at the UoE campus here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, MPA Ch Javed Allauddin said that construction of a road from Renala Khurd to the university campus would soon begin. He announced an additional grant of Rs 1.5 million for the UoE campus development. UoE Lahore Registrar Ch Bashir Ahmad said that there were 13 campuses of the UoE Lahore and Okara campus was one of those campuses. He said that Okara campus students and faculties must work hard to get prominent positions. He said that the location of the Okara campus was very significant as it was situated beside GT Road and adjacent to the railway track. The location would help the campus to attain the status of university in future, he added. He said that the campus teachers should not seek their transfer to Lahore and must work hard for the further development of the campus.
