Malakand University unveils budget
PESHAWAR: Rs445.121 million budget of the University of Malakand (UoM) with a deficit of Rs122.5 million was presented at the 9th meeting of the Finance and Planning Committee of the university at its premises in Chakdarra in Dir Lower Thursday.

The meeting demanded financial assistance from the Higher Education Commission and provincial and federal governments for the university to overcome the fiscal crisis. It was decided that 12 new departments such as Pashto, Islamic Studies, Physics, Law, Education, Geology, Domestic Science, Energy, Tourism and Hotel Management, Food Sciences and Food Processing Technology, Material Science and Nano Technology would be launched at the university the next year.

The meeting was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor Dr Rasool Jan and attended by HEC Regional Director Farmanullah Anjum, HEC representatives Tayeb Awan, Secretary Finance department Ghulam Mohammad, Government Degree College Thana Malakand Agency Principal Ziaullah, Director Finance Israrullah, Controller of examinations Shahid Khan and Registrar Mahboob-ur-Rahman.
