Dept of Commerce
The postgraduate program of Commerce was initially started in the former University College of Commerce in September1982; later on in 1983 the program was shifted to Department of Business Administration. In 1990 the program was again transferred to former University College of Commerce D.I.Khan and was functioning in the said college up to Feb 1999. The College was detached from Gomal University and transferred to Board of Governors; the M.Com program was therefore re shifted to Commerce and Business Administration Department of the Gomal University, as decided by the Board of Governors This department was running under the Administrative control of Commerce and Business Administration Department since 1999 but due to creation of so many Disciplines it was necessitated to establish a full fledge Department of Commerce and Management Sciences and to separate it from the CBA Department. So it was established on April 27, 2006. At present only M.Com Two year program is running but the department intends to start the new Management and Market oriented courses like BS (Accounting & Finance) and M.Com four-year program from the forthcoming Academic session. As the Department is in infantry stage, so at present the lab and library of DBA are being used by the Commerce students, but in future separate lab and library will be established on sound and regular basis
